Ruminate
Lumen – Maastricht
With my images, I aim to illustrate the contrast between my everyday appearance and the aesthetic I so desperately want to make my own. This reveals not only the complexity of my quest for self-acceptance, but also a complex struggle, as I'm never completely satisfied with how I look. My images reflect an inner struggle. On the one hand, trying to meet certain aesthetic expectations, and on the other, trying to express my own aesthetic beliefs.
In Nature's Serenity
USC – Los Angeles
These images are a reflection of how I find peace and comfort in nature's serenity. Since I was a little girl, I have always felt a strong connection with the earth and everything she has to offer. In my teenage years, I gradually lost that connection with nature as life moved so fast. Now that I am growing older, I am slowly finding my way back to her, rediscovering myself and the peace in the places I once cherished so deeply as a child.
HOWL
Theater aan het Vrijthof
For the eco-friendly clothing brand Howl, I created campaign images that unite the intuitive power of femininity and nature. Set in a wooded setting, the images capture women in flowing, sustainable designs, with a moon symbol on their backs—a symbol of cyclical growth, mystery, and connection to the earth.
The black and white photography emphasises the simplicity and purity of the moment, and ties in with Howl's core values: sustainability, authenticity and rhythm with nature.
